Thinking About Our Earth

What do the items below have in common???
If you guessed that they were all found in the stomach of a sperm whale then you were right!
Today Willow, a former Churchill student who takes time from her high school studies to volunteer with us each week, brought in a great workshop activity for us.  With Kelsey, from the earth friendly Otesha Project organization, she led us through an activity where we brainstormed alternatives to these items which were all made from plastic.  We came up with some incredible alternatives...and better yet, we got ourselves thinking about plastic in a critical way.

Churchill S of R at Rogers SING!

Our school has a rock group called Churchill School Of Rock. This year we played at Algonquin collage on Rogers tv.We played a lot of songs including two Christmas songs.Once we got on the stage and started to play the people filming us were surprised that we were so polite and organized and so in to it.They were also shocked because a lot of the of the other schools that were playing were wearing ties and fancy uniforms and playing soft music. Then we came out playing rock songs and getting so into it.  We rocked it! -Cayley-
